The Louise Carver Story

Louise Carver is a popular South African singer-songwriter, known for her powerful vocals and emotive lyrics. At just fifteen years old, she was signed and released her debut single, ‘It Don't Matter,’ which quickly became a radio hit. Her debut album, ‘Mirrors & Windows,’ followed, featuring the hit single ‘Fallen for you.’


Carver's career took off even further when she caught the attention of renowned deep house producer Kenny Hawkes, who worked with her on the hit track ‘Play the Game,’ which reached number one in Europe. This success led to Sony UK licensing her song ‘I'd Say Yes,’ which again reached number one in Europe, Russia, and South Africa.


Continuing to make waves in the music industry, Carver's second full-length studio album "Silent Scream" was produced by UK production duo Tin Tin Out, and featured the hit singles "Empty Fantasy”, ‘Impossible Love’ and ‘Harder Than I Thought’. She received her first SAMA nomination for ‘Best Adult Contemporary Album.’ 


In 2007, Carver released her third studio album "Saved By The Moonlight," featuring the hit single "Home" which took the country by storm, earning her another top ten hit and two SAMA nominations for "Best Female" and "Best Adult Contemporary Album." The album also produced two more successful singles "The Only Thing" and "Didn't mean to call." and solidified Carver's place in the music industry.


In 2008, Louise Carver produced, directed and starred in the "Home Tour Live" show, performing to sold-out venues nationwide. The final show was recorded live and released in conjunction with a follow-up tour. She won a Style Award for most Stylish entertainer of 2008 and was nominated for two SAMA awards "Best Female Artist" and "Best Adult Contemporary Album" for "Home Tour Live."


In 2009, Louise Carver was appointed as a Youth Ambassador for the Independent Electoral Committee and the Nelson Mandela Trust. That same year, her song "Didn't mean to call" was nominated for "Record of the Year" at the SAMA awards.


In 2010, Louise released her album "Look To The Edge" and its first single "Warrior" reached number one. The music video was added to the MTV Europe play list. She performed at the SAMA's and co-hosted five shows for Top billing, a popular lifestyle show.

 

In 2011, Louise received 4 SAMA nominations for "Best Female", "Best Adult Contemporary", "Song of the year" and "Remix of the year". She ended the year by releasing "Days Go By" with dance duo Pascal & Pearce, which gave her another top ten hit.


In 2015, Louise won the award for "Most Glamorous Women" in South Africa at the Glamour Magazine SA awards. The following year, her single "Sunrise" with US DJ Joe Bermudez reached number one on the USA Billboard "Dance/Club Play" chart, and her second single "Crazy Enough" with Joe Bermudez again reached the number one spot on the Billboard club/dance charts.


Louise’s 7th studio album ‘Dark Secrets’, has been nominated for a SAMA under the ‘Best Adult Contemporary Album’ category. There are five different producers on the album all bringing their unique style to the tracks yet staying within the atmospheric, ethereal genre. ‘Nothing Feels Good Without You’ has featured on numerous top 10 charts around South Africa.
